More Insurance Woes, Or, Does Anybody Have a Chainsaw I Can Borrow?

I have just been informed via telephone, that my Orthopedic Surgeon, who seems considerably less adorable now, will not be taking off my fucking cast in two weeks because I don't have insurance.

Hey Life... you suck.

I suggest you take yourself to his office and repeatedly smash that cast over his adorable head until it breaks (until what breaks? Your cast or his head? Oh, whatever makes you happiest).

What??? What do they expect you to do? It's not like removing a cast is a major procedure, either. You could probably break into their office and do it yourself with the little cast-removing-saw-thingy (a technical term). Go with Louise's plan, but don't stop smashing until BOTH the cast and his head are broken.

I was under the impression that follow-up to covered procedures was covered after insurance loss, since, for instance, you can't just keep the cast on, or keep stitches in, or whatever. But maybe that's only certain plans? Definitely ask about that.

And that sucks so much. I wish I could donate some of my fabulous State of CA employee insurance to you.

By the way, I'm a new lurker on your site, I'll go back to lurking now.

damn insurance whores these docs today! my friend had a similar situation; cast on her ankle, no insurance, and she had her dogs' veterinarian saw it off for $100 (same as it cost the great dane's cast removal)...egads!

Are you serious? What is the world coming to? What are you supposed to do? Walk around w/ that cast on forever? I agree that I thought it was part of the whole treatment already, not an added expense. This is something that should be called into some t.v. expose, and have them go w/ you to the office and harass the doc until he removes your cast!!!!
